Stan preached:
Acts 2:1-13 on tongues, they were heard declaring the wonders of God during harvest time. This wondrous event was for the furthering of the kingdom of God as many were added to the kingdom.
3 main kinds of tongues:
-personal prayer language 1 Cor 14 Paul talks about my spirit prays
-prophetic tongues for the body and requires an interpreter and it should encourage, comfort or edify. So when that happens we ask for an interpreter.
-a language just like in the book of acts where the person speaks in tongues but the person hears the gospel message in their mother tongue. The hearer is left amazed and perplexed recognizing a miracle and that God is reaching out to them.
We don’t need to manipulate people into the kingdom we just need to share of the Wonders of God.
We need to speak the language of the people we are witnessing to.
We need to understand who they are and how to speak to them. If your in athletics you need to speak the language of athletics.
If your witnessing to business people, farmers, oilfield, school education folks, God wants to give you the gift of language for the people your connected to will actually get it.
Quit speaking in religious ways and start talking in ways that are real.
Share the wonders of God with them in the language they will understand.
