Past Stan preached
God cares for us and Loves us
Math 8:5-13
Centurion was a man of authority and position who’s faith astonished God
How do we attain astounding faith? Do you have faith like that?
3 things:
1. Loving
-The Roman centurion Loved his servant so much!
2. Asking
-he was not afraid to ask Jesus for help, God loves it when we ask as He is a God of relationships. When we ask He is ready to answer. He is a God who desires to ask. Women are better at asking than guys, guys don’t even ask when they are lost.
3. Humility
-we must come to Him humbly without an attitude of entitlement
-Luke 7:4,5: the centurion realized he was not worthy the Jesus should come under his roof
-the heartbeat of remarkable faith is to die to entitlement to what God has, we need to realize that we don’t deserve it but we are to ask anyway in humility as a servant of God
-Eve and Adam thought they were entitled to fruit so did Cane
David thought he was entitled to Urihahas wife Bathsheba
Entitlement breeds sin.
We don’t deserve any of the grace that we experience!
All we are really entitled to is Death and the only reason we don’t is because of grace that we are saved through faith!
We are saved by grace and what we receive is received undeservedly through what He has already done!
We need to call Jesus Lord as the centurion did, he realized Jesus was the one in control and the Master, God!
The centurion also was amazed at who Jesus is and knew that Jesus didn’t need Jesus to come to his place, he didn’t need to see the miracle with his own eyes.
We are not to seek his miracles but rather we are to seek the Jesus the miracle worker.
We need to realize its all about Jesus and not about us.
Gave an opportunity for everyone who needs Jesus to come forward for prayer.
We all shared a lovely meal together.
