Fathers Day Service Notes:

When the prodigal came home he was restored due to the Fathers great love with no ifs ands or butts.

Galation 4:4-11

When the young son recognized his need he returned to the father.

What is your need that God is using to draw you closer to Him?

There’s a difference between being needy (manipulative and whiny and selfish) or being in need. Being in need is a good thing. Being in need is different as the object of it is not selfishness but Jesus, we NEED Jesus.

We have so much more to offer people. If anyone drinks of Jesus they will never thirst again! Why aren’t we telling people this?

Here is a question not in the parable: Do you ever wonder if the prodigal son makes it or I wonder if he ever goes back to check on the pigs.

2Peter 2:-19-22

How about us? Do you go back to that old life? When you turn your back on Jesus it’s like the prodigal going back to the pigs, it’s like the dog who returns to its vomit.

The main distinguishing between the younger and older son was the younger desperately recognized his need for his Father (Jesus).

Do we REALLY need Him? Are you desperate for Him?

Don’t say you need him if you spend more time with a toothbrush in your hand than on your knees?

How much time are we spending in prayer really crying out for him?
