Pastor Stan preached a powerful word:
1 Samuel 22:2 – a time of David’s men where 400 were in debt or discontented and in distress.
Distress and troubles bring us to the feet of Jesus and causes us to repent. God uses the troubles in our lives to bring us closer to him.
We here at Potters are a motley crue, similar to David’s 400 men.
Romans 13:8
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.(NIV)
WATCH out for discontentment, dissatisfaction. Now there is a right and holy discontentment. It’s when we get discontented with sin in our lives and we get to a place of standing against the works of the devil. We ought to be discontented towards the enemy and what he’s doing, we are to love our brothers and sisters and use Godly discontentment towards the enemy.

The kitchen, Lazarus house and Art from the Streets is all due to a few individuals who said, “I’m not going to stand for THIS anymore”. Without some people getting discontented we wouldn’t have these outreaches. Jesus didn’t say go into all the world

We are to stand against injustice. EG. Albertan’s spend 25 billion on gov’t approved gambling and 40-50% of those people can’t stop. 5% of our Alberta budget is brought in by gambling and we should stop it because it’s not innocent because even if you win it’s money from someone else who couldn’t afford to do it. IT’s not harmless.

For the church to really be powerful and do EXPLOITS we need to be justice seekers and stand arm in arm and FIGHT against what alcohol, drugs and gambling is doing to our city and province. We need to give a voice to those without a voice and stand for those who can’t stand on their own.

Don shared that we at Potters are at the start of something new that is huge, 2017 is going to be the start of something really good and powerful and holy and surprising of what God wants to do here and through us.

All over the world churches are becoming coffee shops and coffee shops are trying to get people to believe they are the churches, it’s crazy.

A.W. Tozer: “We must have a new Reformation. There must come a violent break with that irresponsible, amusement-mad paganized pseudo religion which passes today for the Faith of Christ and which is being spread all over the World by unspiritual men employing un-scriptural methods to achieve their ends.”
